General Guidelines for Installation of “SAARA” Brand Earthing Electrodes with out
uses of charcoal & salt

It is recommended to always use 3 Mtrs. Earthing Electrode, as it is closer to the
natural moisture and gives optimum resu Check the soil condition if it is of clay /
marshy soil, or farm soil with black or Red soil then 6” to 10” dia of drilling is sufficient.
If the soil is rocky, Sandy or it is topped with old building waste rubbish, then a pit of
1.5 Mtr. x 1.5 Mtr. is to be dug a ¼ Mtr. more than the length of the “MEES . The earth
pit is to be dug atleast 5 feet away from any constructed wall otherwise it would hinder
in dispersion of the fault current.

Fill the drilled hole / pit with 6” of good soil then add some quantity of MFC-20 (Mineral
Filling Compound) on top pour water to make the base wet.

Lower the “SAARA” in upright position to the bottom of the pit. Do not hammer and
insert the , “SAARA” our in the soil mixed with our MFC-20 surrounding of the “SAARA”
along with adequate water so as the soil sets around the “SAARA” making a very
good contact between the “SAARA” and the earth mass. Note: the Mineral Filling has
to be done very tightly if required you can use some pressure from the top. Make a
note that the resistance values would be affected badly if there are stones or sand in
the earth pit

Water the pit adequately while installing the “SAARA” Brand earthing electrodes and
once the above installation is complete for a few days, say 20 Ltrs a day, same in
summer weather conditions only (If temperature is above 40O centigrade). The
watering is to be done on the ground around the pit not in the pit

Now after 15 days you can measure the resistance, if you find the resistance higher
than your requirement you can install more number of pieces and interconnecting them
with each other. While installing kindly make a strict note that the distance between the
2 electrodes should be minimum equal to the length of the Electrodes


Construct a chamber surrounding the “SAARA” terminal with brickwork leave the bottom of the chamber open to
measure in future “SAARA” . Close the chamber with a manhole cover for easy access. Do not put water over
the , “SAARA” but water its surrounding on the surface and make it moisturized.


Conclusion / Caution During Installation

1 Augur / Drill / Bore a hole of 8 - 10 Inch in diameter at a place where earthing is to be done, to a suitable depth of 2 - 3 meters

(Electrode Length)

2 Place the Earthing Electrode inside the pit

3 Mix the back fill compound nicely with the soil, which has been dug out.

4 Re-Fill the empty space around the Earthing Electrode with this compound mix soil.

5 While re-filling the space, pour adequate water in the PIT intermittently.

6 Pack the soil around the Electrode tightly and nicely

Caution : Do not drop the Earthing Electrode.
Do not subject it to any kind of driving force.
Do not hammer it while installing the Electrode.
Do not use it other than the purpose of Earthing.
Remove the thin plastic cover before installing the electrode.
Always, place the Electrode keeping the connecting terminal on top.
Apply petroleum jelly over the exposed part (Terminal) of the Electrodes to safe guard it
against the corrosion.
